Step 2: Begin your application by providing basic details like your name, contact number, email, etc. Click “save and next” to proceed.

Step 3: Upload your photograph and signature as per the specified format:

  • Photograph: 200 x 230 pixels, 4.5 cm * 3.5 cm, 20kb to 50kb
  • Signature: 140 x 60 pixels, 10kb to 20kb
    Ensure both are clear and legible.

Step 4: In this section, provide details like your category, disability status, loan disputes, past/future employment with SBI, character reports, Aadhar Card, PAN Card, prior attempts at SBI PO Exam, and your choice of exam center.

SBI PO 2023 Exam Pattern

The selection process for SBI PO comprises three stages, including online written examinations and a subsequent interview round. Here’s the examination structure:

SBI PO Preliminary Examination- Phase 1

  • The online examination has a duration of 1 hour.
  • The exam is conducted for a total of 100 marks.
  • There is a negative marking of ΒΌ marks for each incorrect answer.
  • The test comprises 3 sections.
  • Sectional cut-off in the Preliminary Exam has been eliminated.
  • The overall score of all sections will be considered for selection to the next round.
  • The specific cut-off or minimum passing marks for each section are determined annually by the Bank based on the test’s difficulty level.

Selection criteria for Main Examination:

For the Main Examination selection criteria, a category-wise merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam. There won’t be any sectional cut-off marks. Approximately, ten times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top candidates on this merit list.

SBI PO 2023 Mains Exam Pattern

  • The Mains Exam consists of both Objective and Descriptive sections. The Objective part has a duration of 3 hours, while the Descriptive section takes 30 minutes.
  • The Objective part comprises four sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.
  • Alongside the online test, a Descriptive paper will be conducted, featuring two questions.
  • In case of incorrect answers, there’s a penalty of 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong attempt in the SBI PO Mains Exam. No deductions occur for unanswered questions or blanks.

Interview Process

Candidates who successfully clear both the Prelims and Mains Exam will proceed to the GD-PI session. During this session, they will face a panel of selectors who will discuss their past experiences and ask questions related to General Knowledge and the Banking Sector. Clearing the Interview Process is essential for final selection in the SBI PO 2023 Exam.

The Bank will decide the qualifying marks for this round, and marks will be allotted as follows: Group Discussion – 20 marks, Interview – 30 marks.

Final Selection

After the Personal Interviews, the State Bank of India will prepare a merit list considering the candidate’s scores from the Mains Exam and Interview Round. Final cut-off marks will be declared based on these scores and the available vacancies.

Candidates who clear the cut-off range will receive an Appointment Letter from the State Bank of India, confirming their selection for the position of Probationary Officer.

SBI PO Recruitment 2023 Salary Structure

  • The starting basic pay for a Probationary Officer (PO) is Rs 41,960/- with 4 advance increments.
  • This basic pay is in the scale of 36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.
  • In addition to basic pay, POs are eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical, and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force.
  • The total compensation per annum on a CTC (Cost to Company) basis ranges from a minimum of 8.20 lacs to a maximum of 13.08 lacs, depending on the place of posting and other factors.
