Education Qualification

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized Institution.
• Diploma Certificate of at least six month’s course in Computer Application from a recognized Institution
• Cut-off date for determining minimum educational qualification: 01.01.2023

Preferential Qualification:-

1. Preferential Qualification for direct recruitment to the establishment.
2. Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years.
3. Obtained a ‘B’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
4. Given preference in the matter of direct recruitment at the time of interview.
5. Other things being equal.

The selection process for the Patna High Court Assistant Recruitment 2023 involve the following stages:-

Patna High Court Assistant Exam Pattern

Preliminary Test

The preliminary test will consist of 100 objective type questions with multiple choice answers, with a total of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks will be 40 and ten times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted for the next stage (the Written Test). However, the candidates who have obtained the same marks as the last shortlisted candidate of their respective categories will also be considered, even if the total number exceeds ten times the number of vacancies. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Patna High Court Assistant Syllabus

The syllabus for the preliminary test for a recruitment process in the High Court includes four sections: General Awareness, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, General English, and General Hindi.

General Awareness: This section will test the candidate’s knowledge of current events and everyday observations in a scientific aspect, as well as India and its neighboring countries pertaining to history, culture, geography, polity, economy, general policy, and scientific research. Current affairs, sports, books and authors, important schemes, important days, people in news, and national/international awards will also be included.

Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude: This section will include both verbal and non-verbal type questions and will test the candidate’s ability to solve problems, analyze information, and perform arithmetic operations such as number systems, computations of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, ratios, and proportions.

General English: This section will test the candidate’s understanding of the English language, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and writing skills. The questions will cover topics such as fill in the blanks, spelling, idioms, and comprehension passages.

General Hindi: This section will test the candidate’s understanding of the Hindi language, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and writing skills. The questions will cover topics such as grammar, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, idioms, and comprehension passages.

Written Test

Written Test will be a descriptive type and will include two sections General English and General Hindi with 60 marks and 40 marks respectively.

Qualifying Marks: To get shortlisted for the Interview, a candidate is required to score 40% minimum qualifying marks i.e. 24 marks in General English and 16 marks in General Hindi.

Shortlisting Criteria: Three times the number of advertised vacancies, following the reservation policy and model roster point, will be shortlisted for the next stage i.e. Computer Proficiency Test and Interview. However, all candidates who score equal to the last shortlisted candidate of their respective category will also be shortlisted, even if the number exceeds the three times criteria.

General English: The questions will test the candidate’s understanding of English language and literature, their ability to use words, phrases and idioms correctly, and to write English effectively. The questions will cover Essay Writing, Letter Writing, Precis Writing, Comprehension, Idioms and Phrases, Vocabulary, and Grammar.

General Hindi (सामान्य हिंदी): The questions will test the candidate’s understanding of Hindi language and literature, their ability to use words, phrases and idioms correctly, and to write Hindi effectively. The questions will cover निबंध लेखन, पेटी लेखन, संक्षेपण, अपठित गद्यांश, वाक्य विवेक, शब्द विचार, शब्द विवेक, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द, मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियाँ, व्याकरण.

Computer Proficiency Test

The Computer Proficiency Test is a qualifying test that includes the following areas:

Word Processing Test On MS Word: This test will aim to evaluate the candidate’s basic typing skills and knowledge of MS Word.

Test in Spreadsheets On MS Excel: This test will assess the candidate’s basic understanding of MS Excel.

Internet Proficiency test: This test will evaluate the candidate’s basic understanding of internet usage.

Patna High Court Assistant Interview

The interview will be of 10 marks with a minimum qualifying score of 3 marks. Candidates who are invited for the interview must attend or they will not be considered for the final result. The final merit list will be determined by the total marks obtained from both the Written Test and the Interview.

1. Read detailed advertisement before filling online application form.
2. Ensure active email ID and mobile number.
3. Visit the “Recruitments” tab on the official website of Patna High Court.
4. Click on “Assistant Recruitment Examination, 2023” and then “Apply online”.
5. Register by filling personal details like full name, father’s name, mother’s name, etc.
6. Print the registration page for future reference.
7. Login using registration number and password.
8. Fill personal details, education details and opt three examination center choices.
9. Upload the following documents: recent passport size photo, signature, 10th certificate and marksheet, degree certificate and marksheet, computer application certificate, valid ID proof, domicile certificate, caste/EWS certificate, disability certificate, and other relevant documents.
10. Uploaded photo and signature must be clear, with a minimum of 50 KB and maximum of 100 KB in JPG/JPEG/PNG format.
11. Make sure the photo has full face, both ears, and neck with a neutral expression and against a light-colored background.
12. Follow the instructions for uploading required documents/certificates.
13. Religious headwear is allowed, but must not cover face
14. After uploading the documents, the candidate should preview the form and ensure that all the details filled in and the uploaded documents are correct.
15. After ensuring that all the details are correct, the candidate can proceed to payment of examination fee through online mode only (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking).
16. After successful payment, the candidate should take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
