Chandigarh JBT Teacher Recruitment 2023 Education Qualification

Qualifications for the post of JBT (Junior Basic Training) Teacher:

• Graduation or its equivalent from a recognized University.
• Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) of not less than 2 years duration, recognized by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
• Successful completion of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted in accordance with the guidelines framed by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).

Chandigarh JBT Teacher Recruitment 2023 Age Limit

i. Age Limit:

• Candidates must be between 21 to 37 years old as of 01.01.2023.

ii. Relaxation:

• Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to SC/OBC/ESM/PwBD and other specified categories as per the instructions issued by the Government of India/Chandigarh Administration.
• For OBC category, only candidates belonging to castes included in the Union Territory, Chandigarh list will be eligible for age relaxation.

iii. Age Relaxation for Contract Teachers, Guest Teachers, and Samagra Shiksha Teachers:

• Contract Teachers, Guest Teachers, and Samagra Shiksha Teachers currently employed in government schools of Chandigarh will receive age relaxation equal to the period rounded to the nearest month that they have worked in government schools under the Chandigarh Administration.
• This relaxation will be applicable to the above-mentioned category of teachers for direct recruitment, provided they are working in the Education Department Chandigarh/Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh on the closing date for the submission of the application.

Chandigarh JBT Teacher Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

• The merit list for selection will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the Objective Type Test.
• A single objective type test of 150 marks will be conducted.
• Qualifying marks for the test will be 40% for all candidates.
• No interview will be conducted for the selection process.

Note: The total number of questions is 150, and each question carries one mark. The total marks for the written test are also 150. The duration of the test is 2 hours 30 minutes.

How to Apply for Chandigarh JBT Teacher Recruitment 2023

Step 1: Online Application Submission

• Applications can be submitted only online on the official website link provided in the table below.
• The online application submission will be available from 20/07/2023 (11.00 AM onwards) to 30/11/2023 (upto 05.00 PM).
• Detailed instructions for submission of online applications are available on the website.

Step 2: Application Fee Payment

• An application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC candidates) is applicable.
• The application fee is non-refundable and can be paid online.
• The last date to deposit the fee is 17.08.2023 (upto 02.00 PM).
• Persons with disabilities are exempted from paying the fee as per the instructions issued by the Government of India.

Step 3: Generation of Registration Form

• After submitting the online application, a registration form will be generated.
• Candidates need to take two printouts of the registration form.

Step 4: Document Verification

• If the candidate’s name exists in the Merit List, they need to bring the printed registration form on the date of document verification.
• Original and photocopies of all documents should be brought for verification.

Step 5: Biometric Verification

• Biometric verification may be conducted at the examination center and at the time of joining.

Step 6: Confidentiality of Password

• Candidates are advised not to disclose their password to anybody.
