Educational Qualification

• a. B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing:
  • Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council.
• • OR
• • b. B.Sc. (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing:Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council.
• • And
• • Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
  OR

• a. Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery:
  • Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/Institute/Board/Council.
    and
    b. Registered as Nurse & Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
    and
    c. Two years’ experience in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital (registered with a competent district medical authority) after acquiring the educational qualification.

Age Limit

Age Limit: 18-40 years.
Age Limit As On: 1st January 2023.
Reserved Categories: For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and other categories in Uttar Pradesh, the upper age limit will be as specified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

UPUMS Nursing Officer Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

Question Format: The examination will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four alternatives for each question. The questions will be available in both English and Hindi languages.

• 170 MCQs related to Nursing subjects.
• 30 MCQs related to General English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Reasoning & Mathematics.

Duration: The duration of the Test shall be 3 hours (180 minutes).

Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer. Therefore, candidates should be cautious while answering.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: The minimum qualifying marks for the Computer Based Test (CBT) are as follows:

• 40% for General, EWS, OBC candidates.
• 35% for SC & ST candidates.

Resolution of Tie Cases: In cases where more than one candidate secure an equal score, tie will be resolved using the following criteria:

a) Date of Birth: The candidate with an older date of birth will be placed higher.

b) Number of Wrong Answers: If the tie is not resolved by date of birth, the number of wrong answers will be considered. Candidates with fewer wrong answers will be placed higher.

c) Overall Percentage of Marks in Degree/Diploma Courses: If the tie persists, the overall percentage of marks obtained in Degree/Diploma Courses will be considered. Candidates with higher percentages will be placed higher.

d) Course Completion Date: If the tie remains unresolved, the earlier course completion date will be taken into account.

Merit: The final merit list will be prepared based on the above criteria and will be reflected accordingly in the CBT score.
