Education Qualification

Essential qualifications for the post of Lecturer (PGT) (School Cadre) include:

Academic Stream [A]:

1. Post Graduate Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized University.
2. Bachelor of Education Degree recognized by NCTE with at least 45% marks or its equivalent with a relevant teaching subject.
   OR
   Two years integrated M.Sc. Ed. Course or an equivalent course of Lecturers in Science Subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
3. MA in Physical Education with at least 50% marks from a recognized University.
4. Bachelor of Education Degree recognized by NCTE with at least 45% marks in aggregate or its equivalent.
   OR
   Master in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Note:
The Department of Personnel, Chandigarh Administration has issued instructions regarding mandatory basic ICT skills. Candidates must have a certificate of ICT skill course, i.e., a course on computer concepts (CCC) of 80 hours from a Government-recognized institution, a reputed institution with ISO 9001 certification, or the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Course (DOEACC) of the Government of India, or from NIELIT and its authorized institutions. This condition must be satisfied before issuing the appointment letter.

Chandigarh PGT Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern

1. The minimum qualifying marks for each part (Part-A and Part-B) of the examination are 40%.
2. There is negative marking, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
3. Questions in the examination will be bilingual, in both English and Hindi, except for Language papers, which will be in the respective language.
4. For the posts of lecturers in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, the medium of examination for Part-B will be in English only.
5. The merit list for selection will be based on the total marks obtained in the Objective Type Test, consisting of 150 marks (Part-A and Part-B), conducted in single or multiple shifts/sessions.

Chandigarh PGT Exam Pattern 2023:

PART-A (50 marks 50 questions):

• General Awareness and Reasoning: 12 questions
• Information and Communication Technology, Teaching Aptitude, and Pedagogy: 12 questions
• Arithmetical and Numerical Ability: 12 questions
• Test of English, Hindi, Punjabi Languages, and Comprehension (English-05, Hindi-05, and Punjabi-04): 14 questions

PART-B (100 marks 100 questions):

• Questions relating to subject-specific (relating to the post): 100 questions

These parts contain a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with Part-A consisting of 50 questions worth 50 marks, and Part-B consisting of 100 questions worth 100 marks.
