BARC Recruitment 2023 Age Limit

1. The age limit for BARC Recruitment will be determined based on the candidate’s age as on the closing date of receipt of the application.
2. The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be considered as final, and candidates must ensure that they provide the correct information during the application process.

BARC Recruitment 2023 Selection Process

For Technical Officer/C:

1. Computer Based Screening Test.

For Scientific Assistant/B and Category-I Stipendiary Trainee:

1. Computer Based Screening Test
   • The screening test will be conducted on an all India basis and will last for one hour.
   • The test will have 40 multiple choice questions with four options each.
   • Each correct answer will be awarded three marks and each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one mark.
   • The syllabus for the test will be based on subjects at the Diploma/B.Sc. level, as applicable.
2. Qualifying Criteria for the Screening Test
   • Candidates who qualify in the screening test will be shortlisted for the interview process.
3. Interview Process
   • The venue of the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates at a later stage.
   • Final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview.
   • No weightage will be given for marks scored in the screening test.
4. Final Decision
   • The decision of the BARC center regarding the selection process will be final.

For Technician/B and Category-II Stipendiary Trainee:

Stage 1 – Preliminary Test

• Screening Test of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of one hour duration
• Syllabus: Mathematics – 20 questions, Science – 20 questions, General awareness – 10 questions
• ‘3’ marks for each correct answer and ‘1’ mark deducted for each incorrect answer
• Cut-off: less than 40% in general category and less than 30% in reserved category will be screened out

Stage 2 – Advanced Test

• Test of 50 MCQs of two hours duration
• ‘3’ marks for each correct answer and ‘1’ mark deducted for each incorrect answer
• Merit List prepared based on scores obtained in Stage 2 only
• Cut-off: less than 30% in general category and less than 20% in reserved category will be screened out

Stage 3 – Skill Test

• Shortlisting for Skill Test based on the number of candidates qualifying for Stage 2 but not exceeding 4 to 5 times the number of vacancies in each trade
• Skill Test will be based on Go/No-Go basis
• Shortlisted candidates will be empanelled in order of Merit based on marks secured in Stage 2 – Advanced Test
• Resolutions in the Event of tie in Empanelment Criteria in the following order: Lower negative marks in Stage 2, Higher marks in Stage 1, Lower negative marks in Stage 1, Higher positive marks in Mathematics in Stage 1, Higher positive marks in Science in Stage 1

Note: No provision for re-evaluation/ re-checking of the scores of any stage of the Tests.
