IRDAI Assistant Manager Recruitment 2023 Selection Process

  • Phase 1 – Online Preliminary Exam (Objective Type): This is a qualifying examination to be eligible for Phase II – Descriptive Examination.
  • Phase 2 – Descriptive Examination: It comprises three papers (Paper I, II, and III).
  • Phase 3 – Interview: Candidates for Actuarial, Finance, Law, IT, Research, and General stream will be shortlisted for Phase III – Interview based on the aggregate marks obtained in Papers I, II, and III of Phase II – Descriptive Examination only.
  • Merit List: Final selection will be based on the performance and merit of candidates under the respective stream in Phase II – Descriptive Examination and Phase III – Interview, taken together.

IRDAI Assistant Manager Phase 1 Exam Pattern

  1. Candidates must qualify in each of the four Objective Tests separately and also in aggregate as per the cut-off marks for each test and in aggregate as decided by IRDAI.
  2. Separate cut-offs may be applied for each of the specialized stream and General stream.
  3. Tests will be conducted in English and Hindi, except for the Test of English Language which will be provided only in English.
  4. There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the Objective Tests, with 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  5. The Corrected Scores of each candidate will be obtained by considering the number of questions answered correctly in each Objective Test after applying penalty for wrong answers.
  6. The Corrected Scores will be equated to take care of minor differences in difficulty level, if any, in each Objective Test held in different sessions, to arrive at the Equated Scores.
  7. Scores obtained by candidates in any test will be equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores obtained in all examinations, if the examination is conducted in more than one session.
  8. Test-wise scores and scores on the total will be computed with decimal points up to two digits.

IRDAI Assistant Manager Phase 3 Interview

  • Candidates shortlisted in Phase II – Descriptive Examination only will be called for an Interview.
  • Venue, address, time, and date of the Interview will be notified by IRDAI on their website, and shortlisted candidates will download their Admission Letters from IRDAI website as per the schedule.
  • Final selection will be based on the candidate’s combined score of Phase II – Descriptive Examination and Interview, with a weightage of 85:15, respectively.
  • The combined final score of candidates will be arrived at based on their scores in Phase II – Descriptive Examination and Interview under each stream.

IRDAI Assistant Manager Salary

  • Pay Fixation for Candidates Employed Elsewhere: Candidates employed elsewhere and joining IRDAI will be fixed at the minimum of the basic pay in the scale of pay applicable to the post.
  • Starting Basic Pay: Rs.44,500/- per month.
  • Other Allowances: Candidates will be eligible for various allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Qualification Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Grade Allowance, and other perquisites as approved from time to time.
  • Monthly Gross Emoluments: At present, the initial monthly gross emoluments for Assistant Manager is approximately Rs.1,30,000/- (excluding qualification allowance, wherever applicable).
  • Pension Scheme: Selected candidates will be governed by the defined contribution New Pension Scheme (NPS).
