Delhi High Court PA Exam Pattern 2023: Delhi High Court has released the latest notification for Delhi High Court PA Recruitment 2023, and with it, the exam pattern for the Personal Assistant (PA) recruitment exam. This highly competitive exam attracts a large number of aspirants every year, and those wishing to appear for the exam must be aware of the Delhi High Court Personal Assistant Exam Pattern. The exam pattern includes multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and shorthand and typing tests. In this article, we will discuss the detailed exam pattern for the Delhi High Court PA Exam Pattern 2023.

Delhi High Court Senior Personal Assistant Exam Pattern

Stage – I: English Typing Test

  • English Typing Test for a duration of 10 minutes to assess candidates’ minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English typing on a computer.
  • Only successful/qualified candidates of Stage-I will be called for Stage-II.

Stage – II: English Shorthand Tests

  • English Shorthand Tests for a duration of 5 minutes for dictation at 110 words per minute.
  • Candidates get 45 minutes to transcribe the dictated passage on computers.
  • Total number of mistakes permissible is 3% of the total words dictated.
  • Each candidate will be given the opportunity to appear in two shorthand dictation transcription tests, and the best of the two will be considered.
  • Out of the successful/qualified candidates of Stage-II, candidates to the extent of 06 (six) times the number of vacancies advertised in each category will be called for the next stage of Examination i.e., Stage-III.

Stage – III: Main (Descriptive) Examination

  • Main (Descriptive) Examination of English language for a total of 100 marks and a duration of 120 minutes.
  • It consists of an essay, letter writing, grammar & comprehension passage, and translation from Hindi to English and vice versa.
  • Minimum passing marks are 50% for General Category candidates and 45% for Reserved Category (including PwD) candidates.
  • Out of the successful/qualified candidates of Stage-III, candidates to the extent of 03 (three) times the number of vacancies advertised in each category will be called for Stage-IV.

Stage-IV: Interview

  • Interview for a total of 20 marks.
  • Minimum passing marks are 10 marks for General Category candidates and 09 marks for Reserved Category (including PwD) candidates.

Stage – I: English Typing Test

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Minimum speed required: 40 words per minute
  • Typing will be done on a computer
  • Total number of mistakes permissible: 3% of total words typed
  • Successful/qualified candidates will proceed to Stage-II

Stage – II: English Shorthand Tests

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Total Time: 5 minutes for dictation and 45 minutes for transcription
  • Minimum speed required: 100 words per minute
  • Total number of mistakes permissible: 3% of total words dictated (15 maximum)
  • Each candidate will get to appear in two shorthand dictation transcription tests and best of the two will be considered
  • Successful/qualified candidates will proceed to Stage-III

Stage – III: Main (Descriptive) Examination

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Total Time: 120 minutes
  • Consists of Essay, Letter Writing, Grammar & Comprehension Passage, and Translation (from Hindi to English & English to Hindi)
  • Minimum passing marks for General Category candidates: 50% (50 out of 100)
  • Minimum passing marks for Reserved Category (including PwD) candidates: 45% (45 out of 100)
  • Successful/qualified candidates will proceed to Stage-IV

Stage – IV: Interview

  • Total Marks: 20
  • Minimum passing marks for General Category candidates: 10
  • Minimum passing marks for Reserved Category (including PwD) candidates: 9
Notes: Final Merit List
  • The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks secured by the candidate(s) in Stage-II (English Shorthand Tests), Stage-III (Main Descriptive Examination), and Stage-IV (Interview).
  • Stage-I (English Typing Test) is qualifying in nature.
  • In case of a tie of marks, the following methods will be applied one after another:-
  • Total Marks in Stage-II (English Shorthand Tests).
  • Total Marks in Stage-III (Main Descriptive Examination).
  • Total Marks in Stage-IV (Interview).
  • Date of Birth: the candidate older in age gets preference over the younger one.
